Swingers need holidays like everyone else.
Most of the established holidays are consumed by family
(in the best of ways), so they aren't all that good for swing get-togethers. There
are exceptions. We know that New Year's Eve is a big day at most swing clubs. That is
fine. The day off afterwards is reason enough for a party. And
it is one of the truly "adult" holidays. Swingers also seem to enjoy dressing up at Halloween. No one does that
better, in fact, than swingers. Put the word "slutty" in front of
anything and it becomes a costume. "What are you coming as?" "A slutty schoolgirl."
"A slutty vampire." A slutty princess." Works
nice with everything. Mardi Gras is a perfect swinger holiday as well.
Call me greedy, but I want another, more official, swinger holiday--one not shared at all with costumed children, respectable parades, or Dick Clark (unless, of course, the rumors are true). March 14th is that day. A couple years ago we heard about an invented holiday, Steak & BJ Day, created as a sort of reaction to Valentine's Day one month earlier. The theory of its founder, a radio host, was that Valentine's Day was nice, but it was all centered on the woman. The guy really got nothing out of it. Steak & BJ Day would be his pay back, giving him the things he really wanted. We're not much for gender stereotypes, but we loved the title of the holiday. Frankly we both like a little old-fashioned romance, an alone time for just us two. We also both like blowjobs and steak. When we celebrated it, we altered the name to BJ & Beer Day, because we're too cheap to buy steak for all the friends we were going to invite. You see, we also altered the part about it being a holiday to be enjoyed by two people. This seemed like a good group event to us. It was. The story is currently in our "stories" section.
No one left without getting both of the advertised party themes. We could have called it Beer & Oral Sex day, to be more gender inclusive (and we were), but the BJ part is too damn catchy. Let's make Steak and BJ Day (or BJ & Beer Day or at least March 14th) National Swinger Day. Reserve that time for you closest swinger friends. Reserve that time for meeting swingers and getting close. Whatever the case, let's make the day ours. Who doesn't need another excuse for a party?
